Behind the Scenes at Eckert MachinesCustomer Service! To sell specialized machinery, we must focus on the needs of both customers and suppliers. Our customers and our suppliers sell their products worldwide. ECKERT Machines connects the needs of Canadian processors to the products and abilities of our worldwide machinery manufacturers. We have to understand our customers’ needs in order to provide the optimal machinery solution. This can be a big challenge. Many of our customers’ products are perishable or time-sensitive: continuous operations are very critical to their success, and to ours. In fact, uptime is the only time that counts in production!
Team ECKERT continues to evolve to improve performance and serve market needs. Some machines are more technically involved than others, but even the simplest require attention to detail, and a working knowledge of processes and applications. With this in mind, Team ECKERT works to stay current with news and developments. When training opportunities are available, we take them and encourage our customers to do the same.
David Eckert joined the team in October/07, for Sales and Technical Support. He was immediately immersed in intensive service training, mainly on optical sorting equipment. David passed an intensive training program, and gained direct hands-on experience at BEST plants in Belgium and Holland. While there, he participated in service calls, start-ups, and product demonstrations. He also visited FAM and SPIROMATIC, learning the basics of their machines and systems before returning home. Prior to joining Team ECKERT, David completed a technical program at Niagara College. And before that, David spent a few summers with his Dad on food plant visits. Many customers have been pleased to have the opportunity to welcome David back to the team as a full-time member.
Community Service:In August/08, ECKERT Machines continued its sponsorship of Team MS to raise awareness of, and funds for, Multiple Sclerosis, and the quest for a cure. Our 12 cyclists raised $13,000.00. Captain Stephen was recognized by the Niagara chapter of MS Canada for his leadership skills. All-in-all, it was a very successful effort, for which we owe great thanks to our many generous sponsors, customers, suppliers, friends, family, volunteers, and, of course, to our riders! Without such great support, the team could not possibly achieve these goals.
It’s Show Time:Sandra, Stephen and David recently hosted the ECKERT Machines booth at the Ontario Food Industry Expo in Toronto. They had Dorner conveyors and a Paxton Power Dry on display, along with video and other information on our full range of equipment. They report a pretty good turnout. Soon, they take their show on the road again for PACKex/IPA Canada, May 5-7/09. Visit them in booth 2752, at the International Centre, Airport Rd, Toronto. Contact Sandra in advance for discounted entry passes.

...and in its quick easy-access cleaning position.Paxton PowerDry System:PAXTON Products offers the PowerDry™ system to lower energy costs through reduced compressed air usage. The affordable and compact system was designed as an easy-to-install replacement for plastic comb or fan nozzles, air jets, disk nozzles, drilled pipe, and other common pneumatic blow-off devices. The versatile stand-alone system generates high velocity airflows for effective debris and moisture removal. Its washdown-capable design is perfectly suited for food, beverage and packaging operations, such as container drying prior to date coding, sealing, labeling, packaging, etc. As a blower-driven alternative to compressed air, the patent pending PowerDry system eliminates potential contamination from oils and scale in the compressed air supply. The compact PowerDry system incorporates a high performance Paxton centrifugal blower that develops maximum air flow and pressure from only 3 HP. An FDA-compliant hose carries the airflow to a unique 6-nozzle air tube that delivers successive hits of high impact air. A fully adjustable, stainless steel, mounting arm holds the manifold securely in place. Field tests have shown the PowerDry system generates an average 80+% savings in energy costs, while providing comparable or improved drying in every application, and with less noise and maintenance cost. Depending on operating hours, the return on investment from energy savings is often less than a year. Contact ECKERT Machines for all of your drying/blow-off applications.
